What
is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise method designed to improve and develop muscular strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Hundreds of strength and flexibility exercises can be performed on a mat or with specialized equipment. It is recommended to practice 2 to 3 1-hour sessions of Pilates a week.
Studio
Pilates is a one-on-one class with a private instructor. This class involves the use of equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel and Chair. Sessions are by appointment only.
Mat
Pilates is a group class on the floor using a mat. Props such as balls, elastic bands, foam rollers and magic circles are used.
Allegro
Reformer is a group class with exercises practiced in the "Allegro
Reformer", in which the resistance of the exercise is assisted or
increased.
